2013 BMW X3 Prices Remain Unchanged

BMW is holding the line on prices for its 2013 X3 crossover. The 2013 BMW X3 xDrive28i, which features a new twin-turbo four-cylinder engine in place of the naturally aspirated inline-6, has the same base price — $37,995 — as its 2012 counterpart, while the six-cylinder X3 xDrive35i remains priced from $43,595. Prices include an $895 shipping charge.

U.S. deliveries begin in May.

The 2013 X3 xDrive28i has been fitted with BMW's N20 TwinPower Turbo, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, enabling 0-60 acceleration in 6.5 seconds.

The N20 four-cylinder substitutes for the current 240-hp naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-6. The engine will continue to be paired with an eight-speed automatic.

BMW also is offering a new Driver Assistance package on the 2013 X3, which gets standard 18-inch wheels, chrome tailpipe tips and auto start-stop technology.

BMW hasn't released official EPA numbers, but the four-cylinder should help boost the X3's fuel efficiency.
